Now that you have a good idea of the elements that make up your workspace, let’s dive into adding in your transaction data!
At Cryptio, one of our primary goals is to ensure you have complete data so that your sub-ledger accurately represents your activity on-chain, in exchanges, and with custodians. To ensure complete coverage, we recommend importing every crypto source that your company has custodianship over.
To start importing your transactions, head to the Imports page under CONNECT. When you select + Import
, a pop-up will appear with all our connectors. You’ll also see them broken down by type into “Exchanges,” “Chains,” and “Custody.”
By default, when importing transactions for any source, we will pull in all historic transaction history, from the beginning of the wallet’s creation to date. If you only want a specific timeframe to be imported (for instance, if you become the owner of the wallet after a certain date or you no longer own the wallet but still need to account for historic transactions), you can add a start and/or end date once you find and select the source type. Toggle off “Fetch complete history,” and you can select the dates you need.
💡If you don’t select a start date but include an end date, our connector will pull in data from the date of the first transaction. If you don’t select an end date but a start date, we’ll pull in data from the start date, and the source will bring in newer transactions each time you update your wallets.
Likewise, by default we will pull in each individual transaction. However, if you are only interested in viewing the balances for a particular wallet, you can toggle on “Balance Only.” This will only bring in the balance for all assets in the wallet at the current time, and you’ll see this reflected on your Treasury page.
On-chain wallets
If you’re importing a chain wallet, all you need to do is click on the chain (e.g. Ethereum), give your wallet a meaningful name (e.g. ETH Holding wallet), then input the wallet address. Hit Create
and watch our connector quickly pull in all of your wallet’s transaction data!
Exchange and custodian sources
For exchanges and custodians, we have detailed guides that will walk you through how to set up permissions and API keys (where needed). It’s important to pay particular attention to the permissions sections of these guides, as this will ensure Cryptio is able to “read” and fetch the correct data to pull in your transactions. Select Create and we’ll connect to your Exchange and bring in your transaction history.
New chains or exchanges
If you can’t find the source you’re looking for, it means we don’t have a connector for that source just yet. We want to be sure you’re still able to import that data, so instead you can create and import a custom CSV that represents your transactions on that specific chain or exchange. Check out our help center article here to learn how to create a CSV, and remember that our support team is on hand to help create these!
Once you’ve imported all of the sources that represent your business’s activity, it’s time to manage your assets!
