What is the FP&A module and what can you see?

- Top Management Reporting: The FP&A module provides a revenue and expense reporting system that's tailored for top management. It offers a high-level overview of your financial data in an easily digestible format.
- Business Performance Analysis: Easily track the performance of your business by analyzing your actuals. This feature lets you see how well your business is doing based on real data.
- Trend Analysis: You can chart your financial data over time, allowing you to observe trends and changes in your business's performance.
- Variance Analysis: The FP&A module lets you compare your actual performance with your budget and targets. It's a powerful tool for understanding where your business is excelling and where it might need improvement.
- Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly, and YoY Comparison: The FP&A module enables you to analyze your financial data over various timeframes, such as monthly, quarterly, or annually. You can also compare the current period's data with the same period in the previous year, providing insights into your progress.

- The FP&A module is closely associated with Labels. The better the labelling in your workspace the more accurate the dashboard data will be.

Getting Started with the FP&A Module
There are multiple ways to leverage the module, we have described how to find it and a few of the use cases to get you started.
How to find the module
- Simply navigate to the side navigation bar, and find Business>FP&A (Beta).
- Once you are in the module, select the labels that are associated with either Revenue or Expenses.
- Identify the period you want the dashboards to display/analyze.
- Click on Launch computation
A. Business Performance Analysis:
- What to do:
- Sum up the total inflow by selecting specific labels to calculate your total revenue.
- Similarly, sum up the total outflow by selecting specific labels to calculate your total expenses.
- By comparing your ins and outs, you can have a high-level understanding of how your business is performing.
B. Trend Analysis:
- What to do: select a variety of different date ranges to see how your business was doing in the period.
- This feature allows you to analyze data in multiple timeframes and compare results year over year.
C. Variance Analysis:
- You can input your target and budget data to compare with your actual financial performance.
- What to do:
- Click on the ‘Input Target’ toggle under Revenue and/or Expense
- Set a target for the period, either apply to the entire period or on an individual timeframe.
- Click ‘Update Target’
- The variance will be reflected on the chart and also calculated under the ‘Variance’ column in percentage.
💡 Benefit:
- Customize your financial graphs based on your needs. You can choose which sources and labels to consider for revenue and expense graphs.
- Unselect any sources or labels that you don't want to include. The totals are automatically recalculated based on your selections.
- The graph bars adjust based on the new totals, reflecting the filtered data you want to consider.
